At West Virginia Health Right, we work hard all year to help every member of our community access quality healthcare—and beyond.
WV Health Right strives to provide comprehensive health care with diversity, equity, and inclusion among the highest priority. The programs and services offered at our West Side Clinic and CommUNITY Wellness Center are a direct effort to improve equitable access to health care among our minority populations served. The clinic and wellness center are in the heart of the West Side of Charleston, a region predominantly with residents who are African American.
The clinic and wellness center provide acute and chronic care management, a fully outfitted exercise room, offices for our diversity and inclusion staff, a teaching kitchen with two full kitchens on each side, office spaces for local partner organizations, computer workstations with comfortable seating to promote workforce development, group conference rooms available for the public, and a new food center for community residents.
About West Virginia Health Right
We were founded in 1982 by a group of local physicians who recognized the need for ongoing health care among the most vulnerable members of our community. WV Health Right remains committed to the belief that every person, no matter their insurance or financial status, is entitled to quality care. We currently provide care to over 43,000 medically underserved, uninsured, and underinsured adults with free comprehensive care, and we are proud to serve patients from 34 counties across West Virginia.
We currently have six total sites: a clinic on the East End of Charleston, a clinic on the West Side, a new CommUNITY Wellness Center (attached to the West Side Clinic), a satellite clinic at Covenant House, and a mobile dental and mobile medical unit.
